Nutrition Methodology

Healthy Foods does not treat nutrition values as verified unless the calculation can be reproduced from documented inputs.

Current limitation

If a recipe lacks a named calculation method, ingredient inputs, yield, portion definition, and calculation date, any nutrition figure should be treated as unverified and should not be published as a precise value.

Required calculation record

  • Exact ingredient quantities and the specific edible portions used.
  • Brand or database entries selected for each ingredient.
  • Adjustments for drained liquid, cooking loss, retained oil, or other material changes.
  • Finished yield and a clear serving-size definition.
  • Calculator or database name, version or access date, and calculation date.
  • Rounding rules and nutrients included.

How estimates are presented

When a reproducible record exists, values are labeled as estimates, tied to the stated serving, and accompanied by a reminder that brands, substitutions, and preparation change the result.

Not medical advice

Nutrition estimates are general information and are not a therapeutic diet, diagnosis, or substitute for individualized professional advice.
